5. RIBA: Robot that hold patient from bed to operation room or vice versa.

RIBA (Robot for Interactive Body Assistance) is a robot that created by Japan Institute of Physical and Chemical Research to lift patient in hospitals. It will assist nurses in hospital to lift patient from/to bed.

6. Hina: Robot that makes coffee decorated as Manga character.

A japanase creator (clockwork) create this robot and decorated it as Manga character Hina. Hina is programmed to serve a coffee to the owner. The robot moves so smooth and makes the movement so life. Cool.

I am actually quite dissapointed with the IOS 4.0 on my iPhone 3G. After one long hour of upgrading, my iPhone 3G have a lot of problem.
These are my top 5 reasons why I should downgrade back to 3.13:
1. It is now quite sluggish and slow.
Some games and apps are quite slow to load. It also jerk.
2. Phone receptions become worsen.
Not sure whether it is phone provider issue or due to my upgrade, but the problem did come since I upgrade my phone.
3. No multitasking features for iPhone 3G.
Due to the limited memory of iPhone 3G (128MB), apple decided to disable multitasking feature for iPhone3G. Haizzz.
4. No wall paper for iPhone 3G on ios4
This is one of main reason why people upgrades to IOS4. But this is not a new features anyway, a jailbroken iPhone 3G on previous version of IOS can already have a wall paper background.
5. No bluetooth support
Why is that so ? Deactivated support for iOS 4′s Bluetooth keyboard feature is also a hardware issue. The first two generations of iPhones supplied basic Bluetooth 2.0 support. Starting with the iPhone 3GS, Apple added Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) capable hardware.

The newer specification improves device setup with the “Secure Simple Pairing” mechanism and implements “Extended Inquiry Response,” which reduces power consumption in low-power mode.

For summary, come on apple you can do better than this. Why you discriminate iPhone 3G on your latest OS? As one of the fanboy I am quite dissapointed. Thinking of moving to another platform now.

Wow. even with the minor hardware issue like antenna, iPhone 4 is sold 1.7 million units just in 3 days. The launch is on June 24 in five countries : United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan. Amazing. The only thing that Apple sorry is she couldn’t meet the demand. Even Jobs have to say sorry to their ifans that apple could meet the demand.

Apple once again broke their own record. The last record is one million units in 3 days for iPhone 3GS.

Wearable Solar-Powered Leaf Phone Charges on the Go

The designers (Seungkyun Woo and Junyi Heo) are inspired by photosynthesis process. The Leaf phone can be use as bracelet that will collect energy from its front solar panel. As backup, it can also be charged as per-normal phone. The Leaf offers a high-tech and functional phone and it bring message to the society that they also can contribute to the energy savings.

Designer Mikhail Stawsky came up with the Mechanical Mobile, a concept cell phone that can be charged by spinning it around your finger.
Nice no more down-time, just spin-time. ha2

Biodegradable Grass Cell Phone

A Korean Je-Hyun Kim designed a cell phone meant to last only for as long as the length of its functional life cycle.
The grassy casing will slowly dissolve, leaving the keypad and screen to be recycled. It is a great idea but it might dissolve in your pocket when it rains, don’t you think so? ha2.

Mobile Script Phone

Designer Aleksandr Mukomelov created a sleek, thin cell phone concept that sports two touch screens.
One is a traditional screen and the second is a flexible OLED screen that stiffens when you unroll it.
The Mobile Script phone has most any feature you might want, like internet access, documents on the go, games, communication, and mobility.
Can it get any better? Oh yes. You don’t ever need to recharge this phone. The case is coated with a photo sensitive nano material that converts sunlight into energy. Nice.

Touch Wood concept phones are made from cypress wood scraps.
The protective coating allows these biodegradable phones to be waterproof, insect-proof, and mold-proof. Touch Wood phones have a touch screen and camera.

Kinetic Flexible OLED Cell Phone

Kyocera’s Eos folding concept phone “feeds off of our physical interaction with it, translating kinetic energy into an electric charge via an array of nano-scale piezoelectric generators. So the more we interact with Eos, the more energy it creates – without using batteries.”
The flexible OLED screen can fold to wallet-size, able to open and close with shape memory.

Tenna

Designer Yuree S. Lim created a screen-less phone that uses voice recognition-based UI.
The 1.5 inch Tenna cell phone concept breaks down into a detachable ear piece and a USB mini port.
Plug Tenna in and it transforms any gadget with a screen into a cell phone.

Motorola Origami

Origami, a Motorola concept cell phone, is made of thin segmented “technostuff.”
It “can be folded into different forms to serve different functions: phone, recording device, camera, and, presumably, a pointy paper crane.”
Interesting concept but can it really works for people that are not so creative?

Coke Powered Phone

Daizi Zheng designed a cell phone to run on Coke. Her design has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than
conventional lithium batteries. She wrote, “The concept is using bio battery to replace the traditional battery to create a pollution free environment.
Bio battery is an ecologically friendly energy generates electricity from carbohydrates (currently sugar) and utilizes enzymes as the catalyst.
By using bio battery as the power source of the phone, it only needs a pack of sugary drink and it generates water and oxygen while the battery dies out.”
