RC: Lipo fire is real

Being to the world of RC is so much fun and entertaining, although sometimes you might spend too much time in it and less time with your family. he2. Just want to share with fellow electric flyer, especially when you are charging your lipos. Lipo fire is real, if you are not careful. We can have fun but safety always the first priority. It is better be safe than sorry.

Flyer in US left his lipo charge without supervision and get firefighter came to his home, and see what was found :

This education video shown how a battery might burnt if it overcharged.

Few tips to share :
1. Always set charge rate low, and max 1amp. Yes we do not have much time, but always remember it is always better to be safe.
2. Use a reliable and good charger. I am myself using this charger. so far so good.
3. Power up your charger with good power source.
4. Always use battery bunkers or lipo sack.
5. Never never leave your lipo battery charge without supervision.
6. It is always good to be patient.
7. Have fun flying.

This is really a nice iphone + rc helicopter combination. User actually controlled the so called “helicopter” (or quadricopters) using Iphone via wifi network connection and able to view live video feed from the camera installed on the helicopter.

Control of the quadricopter is said to be quite straightforward. The helicopter comes with Smart Parrot Piloting Software (SPPS) which makes use of the iPhone

Brazil : RC helicopter cellphone delivery service busted

An illegal cellphone delivery to prison is busted. The plot was discovered by the police and they are nabbed. The mobile phones was wrapped into disposable nappy and later will dropped to the jail.

Four suspects were arrested to have confessed they had been given $5,000 to buy and prepare the helicopter. This is not the 1st time where the prisoner with their ‘creativity’ tried to smuggle mobile phone to the jail, earlier this year, they use pigeons to carry mobile phone parts.

Wah after few nights of building, at last I got this E-Starter plane ready to fly. As you can see from the photo, a lot parts need to be connected and glued. Interesting experience and from this I do know more people and I also did learn something about myself. I should make good use of what I have learned.

Bought a bottle of milk and use the bottle as the cowl. I hope it will crash-proof the nose.

AXN Plane Crash again.

Indeed RC plane hobby is quite expensive hobby. I crash my AXN Plane once when i try to do a big loop and forgot to turn down my throttle. The plane just went straight down to the field. I am shock and the AXN plane broke to 3 parts, I lost 1 ESC, 1 Lipo battery and also 2 servos. Total damage around S$100++. Really2 expensive lessons.

The plane before crash (at the end of the rows) ….. I miss her….

As you can see how broken is my AXN plane,

I will fixed it up again and try to fly it again this weekend. More reports to come. But basically the plane built quality is great, even after a bad crash it is fixable and I will see whether can i still fly it or not. Stay tuned.

My Glider AXN Floater Jet at last have her maiden flight.

Today is really great day for me. My dream to fly my glider (AXN Floater Jet) is come true. After one half month purchasing and setting it up, at last today I manage to get some helpful fliers to launch it and I control it after that. Being having fun with it and once I am ready to launch it myself I will create the video. If you wanna buy the same plane, you can get it from here and use this battery to get a good CG for the plane.

While browsing about RC stuff on the net, found this video. A 6 years old boy, Justin Chi (a Korean American) piloting 3D heli. Amazing the way he maneuver the heli. Looks so easy, but we know is not. This boy really have a lot of potential. Go boy.
